Abigail MacDonald

Abigail MacDonald, hailing from St. Andrews, Antigonish County, was raised amidst the rich Gaelic culture and music. Her father, a celebrated fiddler from a family of musicians and tradition-keepers, passed on his skills to Abigail, who has since become a proficient Gaelic singer, piano player, highland and step dancer. Abigail has been actively involved in several community-based Gaelic programs, including Na Gaisgich Òga, Féis Cape Breton, and the recently launched Daltachas. As a summer instructor at the Gaelic College in St. Ann's, Abigail imparts her knowledge of Gaelic culture to students and visitors alike. She is a regular performer at ceilidhs and dances throughout the province and an annual participant in the KitchenFest! music festival. Abigail recently completed her studies in the Health Science program at St. Francis Xavier University.
