Alice Freeman

Alice Freeman followed in the footsteps of Maureen (Rankin) MacKenzie by organizing weekly summer ceilidhs at the Inverness Firehall, showcasing local up-and-coming talent. These ceilidhs provided a platform for many performers to gain experience and earn extra cash while attending university. The Celtic Colours International Festival paid tribute to the more than 20 years of these events in 2011.

Alice is a dedicated member of Coiser an Eilean and has also shown her commitment to the Broad Cove Concert. She regularly opens our shows by singing O'Canada, including the 63rd edition. Alice strongly advocates for the Gaelic language, Gaelic songs, and all things Gaelic, and she encourages and supports their promotion.
