Allan Dewar

Allan's profound knowledge of the Cape Breton Musical Tradition enables him to accompany any fiddler, both past and present. During his early years in Halifax, he regularly received visits from Dave MacIsaac and other Cape Breton Dance enthusiasts. Allan's musical journey began playing acoustic guitar for his sister on fiddle and mother on piano. He has toured across the globe with Jerry Holland and other artists and was a full-time member of Natalie MacMaster's band from 2001-2006. Currently, Allan serves as the Music Director at the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre and enjoys accompanying local fiddlers at various events, including dances, pubs, and theatres, both in Nova Scotia and abroad.
