About Howie

Howie MacDonald, a renowned fiddler from Westmount, Cape Breton County, has entertained audiences for as long as he can remember. He has an impressive track record, performing at numerous family gatherings and international concert halls. With eleven albums and a DVD, Howie has spent many years touring and recording with the Rankin Family.

In addition to his musical talents, Howie has also ventured into the realm of comedy. He has gained a loyal following for his roles in musical comedy revues such as Island Mania, Howie’s Celtic Brew, The Dance Last Night, and the Cape Breton Summertime Revue. As an accomplished piano player, Howie is in high demand for dances, concerts, ceilidhs, and recording sessions, having accompanied almost everyone on the island.
