Lawrence Cameron

Lawrence, hailing from Margaree Forks in Inverness County, has been immersed in the rich musical culture of Cape Breton since childhood. With a family that includes renowned musicians like the Rankins and Beatons, Lawrence developed a deep appreciation and knowledge of the tradition. He pursued this passion by obtaining a Music Education degree from Acadia University and has taught music in public and private schools since his teenage years. Currently, he teaches music at Cape Breton Highlands Academy in Belle Côte, Inverness County, and also shares his expertise by providing private piano lessons and teaching at the Gaelic College.
