Lucy Gillis

Lucy Gillis is 13 and grew up in Mabou, Cape Breton. She began her step dancing career at the Gaelic College 7 years ago, learning her first steps in St Ann's and her living room in Mabou. She continued with lessons from her uncle, a well-known fiddler and dancer, Rodney MacDonald. She has danced at many events in her community and surrounding areas.  Living in Mabou, Lucy is surrounded by music, culture, and step dancing.  Her MacDonald grand-uncles are well known to be great dancers and can be seen dancing through the county.  Her Beaton family are well-known musicians and dancers as well. Lucy enjoys square dances and fiddle lessons and is involved in many sports. She is excited to debut at the Broad Cove Concert this year.
