Maybelle Chisholm-McQueen

Maybelle Chisholm McQueen, a pianist hailing from the renowned musical family of the Chisholms of Margaree in Cape Breton, has received training in music from the Sisters of St. Martha for several years. Her background in classical music is evident in her exceptional rendition of Scottish tunes. Maybelle's musical journey began at the age of ten when she played her first dance with her two famous uncles, Angus and Archie Neil Chisholm. She is highly respected for her innovative rhythmic techniques and has collaborated with several Cape Breton fiddlers, including her uncle Angus, Johnny Wilmot, and Howie MacDonald. Maybelle continues to perform at dances and sessions and has accompanied Ashley MacIsaac on numerous occasions.

Maybelle Chisholm MacQueen is regarded as one of the finest pianists in Cape Breton, and is a regular performer at the esteemed Broad Cove Concert. Growing up in a family of renowned musicians, Maybelle had the privilege of learning from the best. She has played alongside almost every fiddler in the music scene.
